In a vast continent called Milton, the power of rule came by the sword and the arcane. Men devoted to the blade or to magecraft could become renowned warriors, wise wizards, or great adventurers. Throughout the land, there were kingdoms divided by borders but united through history, with countless stories of alliances and upheaval.
Our story begins in the remote and often-forgotten kingdom of Iblis, a wild and barren land where its people scrape a living by mining minerals for the lords of the south. Adventurers would occasionally pass through but never stay long... until one day, a fledgling adventurer lost his way and stumbled into a hidden treasure trove. Against all odds, he returned with sacks of gold and glittering treasure.
Word of his fame and fortune spread like wildfire across the kingdoms. Kings sent their bravest warriors and adventurers to clear the cavern of monsters, hoping to claim their own share of treasure. Even peasants wanted a piece of the newfound wealth and joined these expeditions. In no time, a bustling town had emerged in this forgotten place. People set up camps and formed groups to explore the cave. Clever merchants saw an opportunity and built taverns and shops, selling equipment and potions to eager adventurers.
Initially, all was well. Explorers encountered new creatures, discovered treasures, and unraveled mysteries hidden within the cave. However, as expeditions continued, the wealth distribution began to shift. Cracks formed among the adventurers who had once worked together in harmony. Latecomers and weaker individuals could only watch as veteran adventurers brought back treasure after treasure from the deep. Envy took hold as veterans grew arrogant, hoarding secrets and treating others as mere pawns. The once-thriving place became consumed by suspicion, greed, and jealousy.
It all started with the disappearance of an adventurer in the cave. Rumors circulated about a legendary treasure he had found, others claimed he had been transported to another world by a mysterious force. However, the unspoken belief was that he had been murdered by a rival party and lay buried beneath the caverns. The truth remains unknown, but since then, more people have vanished. Some adventurers have given up, some hold onto hope, and a few wait and observe.
And now, it is your turn. You, an ordinary young man with undisclosed motives, find yourself thrust into this extraordinary circumstance. May you uncover the truth and fulfill your desires in...
